ATHENS, Ga. — The Georgia men’s golf team will continue the fall portion of its schedule next week in the SEC Match Play Hosted By Jerry Pate in Birmingham, Ala.

Lineup: Senior Trent Phillips; juniors Nicolas Cassidy and Ben van Wyk; and freshmen Buck Brumlow and Maxwell Ford.

Field: Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn, Florida, Georgia, LSU, Kentucky, Missouri, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas A&M, and Vanderbilt.

Schedule and format: Georgia will square off against Kentucky at 9:20 a.m. on Sunday in the opening match. If the Bulldogs win, they will face the Tennessee-Missouri winner at 2:20 p.m. in the second round Sunday. If Georgia falls to the Wildcats, it will meet the Arkansas-Mississippi State loser in the second round at 3:10 p.m. Each team is guaranteed to play two matches Sunday and one match both on Monday and Tuesday even if eliminated from championship consideration.

Rankings: No. 16 Bushnell Golfweek Coaches Poll; No. 17 GolfChannel.com; No. 21 Golfweek/Sagarin Rankings.

Course: Shoal Creek Club (par 72, 7,400 yards).

Live Results: Golfstat will provide lineups and match results but will not have hole-by-hole live scoring.

Last Time: Cassidy recorded the first top-10 effort of his career in the Colonial Collegiate Invitational. Cassidy, a junior, came in seventh at 1-under 209. As a team, the Bulldogs placed seventh at 18-over 858.

Coach Chris Haack Says: “Match play is a critical part of the postseason at the SECs and the NCAAs, so this presents a great opportunity for us. Our guys are looking forward to the head-to-head competitions. In match play, if you have a bad hole you shrug it off, because it only costs you one hole. When we get to match play in April and May, they will have this experience in their pockets.”

News & Notes: Phillips is No. 13 in the latest PGA TOUR University presented by Velocity Global rankings. At season’s end, Nos. 1-5 will receive Korn Ferry Tour membership and will be exempt into the final stage of the KFT Qualifying Tournament, while Nos. 6-15 will earn membership on a PGA TOUR international circuit and will be exempt into the second stage of the KFT Qualifying Tournament … Phillips is 31-for-31 in tournament appearances for the Bulldogs. … van Wyk, a South African who played his first two seasons at Augusta, pronounces his last name as “fun-vake” … Cassidy is serving this year on Georgia’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee, while Kalhstorf and junior Connor Creasy are on the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.

On Deck: After the SEC Match Play, the Bulldogs will wrap up the fall portion of the schedule Oct. 25-26 in the Eagle Point Intercollegiate in Wilmington, N.C.
